John 15:9-17 “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last.”

John 15:9-17 “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last.”
Some of the teachings of the Christian Gospel that we have in the Bible and we find in the creeds and statements of the church, some of those teachings are offensive…
PICTURE: Imagine the road to God, and there’s a big archway and over the archway are some words of scripture, “Come to Me, Repent, Believe in Me”, words like that. The Gospel commands an invitation to come, through Jesus, to God. We respond to that invitation, we go through the arch but then as we look back we see the words of Jesus, “You did not choose Me, but I chose you.”
PRAYER: “Lord with faith in your word the Bible, teachings that cannot be fully understood by human wisdom, give us humble minds to receive what You teach and obedience to follow what You tell us to do, for You are God and we are Your human people. Amen”
